    Greg Bowen

    Greg began piping in the early 2000s under the instruction of Bruce and Adam Annandale, and currently studies with Michael Grey.  Piping has long been a family tradition, which sparked his early interest and continues to inspire his playing today.

    He is in his 4th year competing with the 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band and has had recent success on the solo circuit. In 2024, he won the Grade 2 Champion Supreme title in light music after a 20-year hiatus from regular solo competitions, and he was named Amateur Piper of the Day at the Cambridge Highland Games in 2025. This past year, was his first season ever competing in piobaireachd.

    Away from the games, Greg works as an IT Engineer specializing in identity and security. He enjoys fishing, tinkering with smart home automation, and spending time with his partner Taylor and their two cats, Charlie and Tula, at their home in Waterloo, Ontario.

    Glen-mary Christopher

    Glen-mary lives with her spouse, two teenagers, and three cats in the small town of Coronach in southwest Saskatchewan, where she works as a nurse practitioner providing full-time health care services to three rural communities. She started piping at age seven with the PPCLI Army Cadet pipe band in Estevan. After high school, she took a 27-year piping hiatus for education, family, and other stuff. During the pandemic, she had a mid-life piping crisis and joined the City of Regina Pipe Band. She has been busy making up for lost piping time since then.

    Jonathon Kalyn

    Jonathon has been playing the bagpipes for about seven years. Piping has been a great passion of his. He started playing when he was 11 years old and since then he has played across Canada from British Columbia to Nova Scotia.

    Jonathon has been the Alberta Society of Pipers and Drummers aggregate winner for grades 4, 3, and 2, and he is currently competing in grade 1. Jonathon is the pipe sergeant of, the Foothills Caledonia Youth Pipe Band of Calgary.

    This will be his second time competing at the PPI.

    Abby Long

    Abby started playing the bagpipes in the St. Thomas Episcopal School band program. After transitioning to focus on solo competitions, she continued taking lessons from Nick Hudson and later Mike Cusack through the Jimmy McIntosh Piobaireachd Scholarship.

    In 2025, she focused on competing at top tier grade one competitions. At Winter Storm, she placed first in the MSR and second in the piobaireachd. She also placed first in the piobaireachd, second in the MSR, and won the overall in the amateur category at the United States Piping Foundation.

    Due to her results last season, she earned invitations to the Macgregor Memorial in Scotland, the Sunbelt Invitational in Orlando,  the Nicol-Brown in Maryland, and the George Sherriff competition in Hamilton, where she won the overall prize. 2026 has been a busy year for her so far. She has started practicing with the St. Thomas Alumni Band and enrolled in her first semester at Texas A&M University. In her spare time, she enjoys working out and learning jiu-jitsu at her local gym as well as spending time with her family and two dogs, Jack and Wolf.

    Brady Webb

    Brady is from Westville, Nova Scotia. From a young age, he received piping instruction under the guidance of Madelyn Evans Langlois and Scott Williams, and he currently receives instruction from Alex Gandy. Brady is an active member of the Atlantic Canada Pipe Band Association (ACPBA) and is a member of the Dartmouth & District Grade 2 Pipe Band.

    Brady has competed across Canada and internationally. His recent achievements include being named Overall Grade 1 Winner at the Halifax Citadel Mini-Gatherings (2026), Overall Grade 1 Winner at the CLASP Live Online Competition (November 2025), Piper of the Day at the New Brunswick Highland Games (2025), and Grade 1 Winner at the Atlantic Canada Piobaireachd Challenge (2025). He was also Overall Grade 1 Winner at the CLASP World Solo Amateur Piping Competition at Piping Live (2024). As a member of Dartmouth & District, the band placed 2nd in Grade 3A at the World Pipe Band Championships (2024). 

    Outside of piping, Brady is in his first year of teaching at a local elementary school in his community. He enjoys golfing, kayaking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
